Notes

Trailer:
About 1-2 minutes.
You might want to do a shorter version for TV as well (30 seconds)
Remember “Teaser”
How does it attract your target audience? Include some bits which deliberately do that.
Use generic iconography which is identifiable
Range of different camera shots, editing etc.

In your final exam you will be asked questions about how your work relates to one or more of the following: Genre, Narrative, Representation, Audience, Media language.
Think about including something you can talk about for these.

Ancillaries
In what ways do they resemble real texts.
Think about: Genre. Target audience.
These products should only be secondary in terms of time needed not quality.
Blog

Please adhere to the draft deadlines. Remember there are marks for your use of blogging. There should be 3 sections: 1- Research. 2- Planning. 3- Evaluation questions.

Research
As well as the genre based research you did last time there needs to be more about your target audience. How do similar texts attract the target audience. Be more specific about your audience and know how your texts will address it. You should be using a “Uses and Gratifications” model not an “Effects model” ( Look it up!)

There should also be some more academic ideas. How do the writings of media theorists relate to your texts. Your research should go beyond Wikipedia and IMDB. If you are not sure about what to look at then talk to me.

Welcome Back

Welcome back to year 13. I am hoping to clear and save your year 12 blogs so that you can post your A2 blogs to the same place. This will save you having to re-register for a new blog. If there are any problems which arise from changes in groups I will try to sort those out as soon as possible.
